Our Approach to Tutoring

Whether you are seeking tutoring for yourself or for a child, we are carefully attentive to your needs and previous educational experiences from our very first conversation. Learn more about our approach:

• Join us online or in person in our safe, comfortable office in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.
• We'll begin with a free, half-hour telephone or Zoom conversation to discuss the needs of your student.
• We'll provide you with a detailed, initial skills evaluation to identify current skill levels and set learning goals.
• The tutor will receive evaluation notes and learning goals so that tutoring is productive and efficient from the very first session.
• The tutor will be available to communicate with parents as needed.
• After the learning goals have been met, you can either discontinue tutoring or consult with your tutor to set new learning goals. Many of our students stay with us for years, setting new goals many times.
